Ruling Out Plugin or Theme Conflicts#

Because plugins and themes are open-source in the WordPress space, any developer can contribute code. This often leads to conflicts that can cause bugs or errors on your site.

To identify whether plugins or themes are conflicting — and which specific product is the culprit — follow this process:

  1. Temporarily deactivate all plugins on your site except Blocked in China, and activate a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty-Four).
  2. Run a Status Check.
    • If it works, excellent — we now know it's a plugin conflict. Continue to step 3.
    • If it doesn't work, it could be something else. Contact support with the details requested below and we'll work on a solution as quickly as possible.
  3. Reactivate each plugin one by one, attempting to run a status check (or retry your desired action) after each activation.
  4. Once the problem recurs, you've identified which plugin or theme is causing the issue. Contact support and tell us which one is conflicting along with the details below. We'll either issue a fix or contact the developers of the other product to request one. Where possible, we'll provide a workaround in the meantime.
